Description

In the heart of Kuwait City, IMMMES designed and installed a high-performance panoramic elevator for the iconic Al Hamra Tower, the world’s tallest sculpted skyscraper, designed by the renowned architectural firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM).

This project exemplifies the perfect balance between engineering, aesthetics, and technological innovation.

The elevator was engineered to seamlessly integrate with the tower’s architecture, offering a safe and unique vertical travel experience in one of the Middle East’s most iconic buildings.

It features a synchronized dual-chain drive system, a main motor, an emergency motor, and a microprocessor-controlled buffer system—ensuring high performance, quiet operation, and compact design.

More than a means of transport, the Al Hamra Tower panoramic elevator is a technical and architectural statement, enhancing the visitor experience and contributing to the tower’s identity.

Technical Highlights:

  • Custom panoramic elevator (9 meters) for a 414-meter skyscraper
  • Synchronized dual-chain lifting system
  • Main motor + emergency motor + electronic buffer system
  • Compact design for minimal footprint and silent operation
  • Architectural integration with SOM’s design
  • Client: Ahmadia Contracting & Trading Co.
